The Luxury Of Satellites

As older television sets fade out of the electronics market in favor of newer, flashier flat screen options, it seems that the same thing is occurring in people’s homes. Of course, this is the natural progression of products – what is available in the stores will end up in homes. The result of all of this is that, while giant flat screen televisions and home theater systems used to be reserved primarily for people who wanted to spend extra money on such luxuries, they are now becoming somewhat standard in place of older, simpler televisions.
Specifically, Plasma and LCD televisions have brought us (in some sense) an entirely new way of watching TV, as the picture quality improvement over older technologies really is quite astounding. Additionally, these televisions are flatter and less bulky, and can therefore be placed in more strategic positions within homes and living rooms. This means that a home theater set-up is no longer a difficult thing to conceive of but, in many homes, a natural result of a new television. Why keep an old, ugly, gigantic box around when you can have better visual quality and more aesthetic options with regard to placement with a new flat screen?
